Surf Fishing Reels

Post by Chapmanm845 » Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:00 am

for a new reel for one of my surf rods that finally died after years of sand and salt. It holds about 200yds of 17 lb test. That sounds about right for the beach. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, Brian. Can't wait for things to warm up.
Thanks

If you want to switch gears and try level wind, I have a Penn sql15 lw. It will cast a mile once you go through a short learning curve. with a 10' rod it will reach out over 100yds.
