Vacation spots

Post by Mudflat123 » Sat May 11, 2019 9:00 am

Hey guys, I was wondering if you all knew any vacations spots for a kayak fishing trip? Keys are definitely an option I am just unsure of which key or where to launch and fish. Any help would be great!

Hello Mudflat and hope you "caught them up" Thurs/Fri...not sure of where or when you actually fished, but hope you caught some su
Dunno what or where to recommend for a Fishing & Yakking Florida trip...so I will ask you these:
How many days will you be on the vacation??
Is your "bride" going with you?? Are you interested in camping or would you want a motel/cabins?
Saw you mentioned the Keys and they are awesome, but a much longer drive than I normally want to do.
I have "roughed it" a few times in GA and FL and I enjoy tent camping, so that is an idea...??

Give us some criteria of what you are looking for..see above...and there are MANY trips mentioned already...just try the "Search' method on here....if it still works??
I'll watch for your response....Good Luck!!

Yeah my wife will be coming with me. She definitely would like a hotel or motel I believe. We are looking for 3 to 4 days

I just got back from Hutchinson island Courtyard Marriott right on the beach. I used points, new rooms. Tons of places to launch kayaks or canoes all up and down A1A.

Video https://youtu.be/FWtun9kHzvo

Stan Blum memorial boat ramp. Coon island the flats and the boat channel. 3.5 feet of water. Suspend mullet bomber with circle hooks. Watch the rod twitch in video. In hind sight I should have used two bombers. The reds were trying to get the bait out of the fish I was reeling in. I could have caught two at a time. Lady fish were same place followed the disturbed water. With the Native pedal I can maneuver easily. Tons of bait fish on the flats. All outgoing tides. Very clear water.

The snook were across from Leighton Park boat ramp. In a shallow canal. DOA shrimp tipped with a small piece of fish bites. Water there was dark muddy.

We rented a condo in Ocean Village on A1A. $90 per night and the place is empty. Seems to be all snowbirds. Plus a 9 hole golf course running between the buildings. You can hit all the places previously talked about plus launches just south of the condo on A1A.
