Thanks for the info though, I am still waiting for a reply from the seller.

I think I saw a mermaid! Are you sure your camera isn't pink, because I've heard that color attracts mermaids...

Contacted the seller and I can return.

My son suggested that I take out the battery and see if the camera comes up=nothing.

Sending it back. It's a good camera though.

I have to pay shipping back to NJ and I loose the $21.99 warranty I paid for-BUT, it is for a camera/camcorder in the cost range of $100.00-$125.00 So I might be able to use it for one of my kids cameras unless it is attached to this one. :compress:

If I had only purchased the PINK one :-B

I did see a GoPro Hero 3 for $275.00 and it has WiFi.

Don't know anything about the GoPro/WiFi but still looking around.

Thanks for the help,
Jim

Wonder if these are any good?
http://usa.ioncamera.com/ion/E-Shop.html

Found a GoPro 3+ for $377.00 on eBay.

I also asked the vendor of the SJ4000 if I return it will they replace it with new or just fix it. Waiting on an answer. :grouphug:

They will probably send me one like Chris has ......

I doubt it. Since I purchased it, Pink has become this year's Black.

Vendor off ebay (ipartsdepot1) has been very helpful and great communication/fast shipping.

They said they wanted to try a battery first but also said they will exchange it w/the COLOR of my choice and it will be new, non refurbished. They will aslo pay shipping both ways.

So I told them a few minutes ago (eBay email) that I wanted a new one. If this one doesn't work, then its a GoPro 3 black-if they come in black, seems like everything is PINK now a days.

Will advise,
Jim

Will advise.

The seller should know about the Wifi model from their supplier(s), but so far I've only seen it from distributors that have a 500 count minimum order. If I could find a distributor willing to sell me 10, I'd buy them and resell 9.

Pretty sure it comes in your color

That's the WDV5000 and NOT a SJ4000. It's an older camera based on the same innards as the Swann Freestyle camera. It's reviewed as having lesser quality video and still pics than the SJ4000, and there are other weird quirks to it, too. Like although it comes with a remote control, it's an IR remote and not radio (the "button" looking thing next to the lens is the IR receiver) and you cannot turn on the camera with the remote -- you can only turn it off. So the camera always needs to be within reach for you to power it on and line-of-sight IR remotes don't always work well in bright sunlight. Even the Swann Freestyle camera will "wake up" with the remote and it has a radio remote, so I'm not sure why they went this route with the WDV5000. The battery life of the WDV5000 is also horrible with the Wifi but you'll want to use the Wifi feature since it does not have a LCD screen on the back for framing/viewing the shot or changing settings. Actually, the battery life isn't any worse than a genuine GoPro running Wifi, but you can always get a bigger battery (and an LCD screen) for the GoPro whereas those accessories don't exist for the WDV5000. It's also not compatible with GoPro mounts, which can limit your mounting options.

I think if anyone really wants a Wifi SJ4000, they just need to be patient a wee bit longer, as they should be hitting the market soon. Right now only distributors seem to have them and require a 500 unit minimum purchase. If they would lower that limit to 10 units, I'd buy 10 and sell 9. I'm sure they'll start hitting eBay soon.
