Pumkin Hill Sat Dec 30

Post by yakingoff » Tue Jan 02, 2018 12:15 am

Weather looked like it was going to be a bad day but when we got there at 2pm the sun had come out and felt like it was going to was up. Tried to find the reds in the shadows. Fished 3 hours and not one bite. As soon as the temperature started dropping for the evening we found the reds in the few deep spots that pumpkin offers.

The best of the day was this 24" red. Red jig head with chartreuse gulp and working it really slow. Image

Pumpkin Hill and Cedar Point are both great fishing areas. Pumpkin tends to be more shallow overall in my experience.

Never put in here. What is the launch like? Trailer parking? Can you back up to the water, or have to cart a ways?
thanks,

Jacob

Great spot to launch. I trailer my hobies so theres plenty of parking. Very short chart distance to me.
It's shallow at low tide. Never crowded.
