I decided to go to the pier and see what was going on with the shrimp and do a little fishing.
On the plus side the pier wasn't packed.
On the minus side the shrimp weren't there and the fishing was poor. The shrimp were small and people were only getting 5 or 6 in a cast.
Did see two FWC officers checking coolers, no one got a citation that I saw because nobody was catching anything. CCSO was in the parking lot for a few hours.
Good to see THE LEO out there. Last year the place had to many drunks and people keeping under sized fish or over limit shrimp.

Tons of 2 to 3 inch shrimp on the mud flats. Probably not what you are looking for though
What other areas are good for shrimping from land? I was told it's best to chum them up with a chum bag...
