You can buy a pinfish trap if you have access to a dock or a secret spot to put it out and catch them. I carry a smaller pole rigged with some split shot and a small hook and bait with a small section of dead shrimp and catch them regularly.
Pinfish caught me my biggest trout to date, so I'm all about 'em!

Especially on the west coast, always have a sabiki and catch tons of pins for reds and trout. If they die under a bobber (or even alive) put a slit in them for scent and throw them to the bottom with a circle hook and a small splitshot. Great tips for sure
