The specs on the DJI website say 5km, or roughly 3 miles. I don't know if I believe all of that, but the video of the A1A bridge has a part where I fly towards the beach where folks are driving and the pilot app on the iPad said that was almost 5,000 feet away from me. I started losing video feed and turned back around, but that is still incredibly good to me.

Really enjoyed your video and watching my home base for fishing and where I have been living for the past 15 years. Very difficult to explain to people just how wonderful this area is.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I feel the same way. It's hard to explain to people how beautiful our area is here in North Florida because it's special in its own way.

I always bring it down when it has 30% battery left. The Nassau Sound follow me video and the Simpson's Creek video were both filmed on one battery. Roughly about 15-20 minutes of flight time. Yes, it GPS locks to its takeoff position and it warms you when it gets close to not having enough battery to get back home. It will also automatically return home when it gets down to 15%.

FYI they're not waterproof.

My boss was flying his (same model) from the hotel balcony. I forget the details but somehow it went wrong and he panicked. Instead of returning it to home it just dropped into the ocean while he watched.

Oh yeah I've read many horror stories along the same lines and I was incredibly nervous flying it over water to say the least. Luckily though, it performed flawlessly. I could only imagine the heartbreak of watching one sink into the drink.

damn best videos I have seen...... never fish out Simpson's Creek, next time I go out fishing I know where am heading.....
