Re: fernandina flounder
I'm living near Topsail Island now and I went out the other night and as soon as I was unloading there was a few folks unloading their kayaks and lights to gig across from where I was going. I started out on the beach on the south side of Topsail and about a mile down saw some other folks wading heading my way so I turned around to see another group wading towards me the same way I just came from. I also saw plenty of boats out with their lights also. All I saw was small ones. Man, never had this much competition in Florida for space. Spoke to a few folks and it sounds like there was a lot of tourist out gigging or at least people not from around here. Every time o have gone out there are at least five boats out gigging and so far all I have seen are to small. NC also has issues with their flounder being depleted. I think it's because they allow gill nets but I don't see them getting rid of those any time soon. The also have commercial gingers and it costs $17 a flounder sandwich around here. Needless to say I'm missing FL right now.

Re: fernandina flounder
They are looking at changing the flounder limits in NC. It's already 6 a day at 15inches. At one time the spoke to going to 1 a day. They also have commercial giggers and gill nets are allowed.

Re: fernandina flounder
If 30 flounder is slow then hell for me the fishing has been really really really slow. I was happy with 3 keepers last weekend.
Tight Lines and keep at it.
