Just wondering if anyone else with Jackson Kayaks has had any cracks develop. I noticed 2 small cracks just behind the seat where the water would funnel to scuppers, not the scuppers themselves or the seat mounts just between them. I have a Cuda 12.
I'll post pics later, doesn't seem to be taking on water and not too serious looking.
Like I said not terribly alarmed but may get worse, I store it out of the light on top of sawhorses.
You can barely tell from the picks but the well behind the seat is "swelling" upward I have been tempted to remove the foam block but decided not too, should I have?
Yeah I'm local. The trout have been tearing it up managed 20 in about an hour at dead low off Mayport road half keepers.

Hey jwright.......I "think" that you are a JAX Local, but am not certain even tho I checked your Profile....??
Either way, please post some CLOSE UP pix of the cracks on here and I will forward to our Techie at BCO....Clark....and he will know what to do. His "screen name" in here is KayakDoctor.......(maybe a space between the two words...??).
Jackson Kayaks are a very good brand that we sell at BCO, and I honestly cannot remember any problems with cracks....??
Please post those pix and I will make certain that Clark see them....Thanks!!!

Hey there, I too have a very new Jackson cuda 12, and I also just noticed the same identical cracks that you have. Its very concerning , the integrity of the yak could be compromised. Not to mention the price I paid for that thing it shouldn't be an issue! Im at work but ill post pics of mine tmrw.

Sorry to hear about the issue and I know it can be alarming but the folks at BCO are great I got my Wilderness there and am sure they will work with you to make it right. Give them a chance. They know what they are doing. Good luck.
Rob,

I am a little concerned. I also have a Cuda 12, but haven't noticed cracks in it yet. I also had a Jackson Coosa that was cracking as well. I got the Coosa replaced thru Jackson, but it took some pressure. See thread below. If you need any advice on how to handle - PM me. How old is the yak ? It may just be a simple repair....

I took my old Caster12.5 up to BCO to have Clark fix a couple of cracks. aAfterwards I did some research on line and found a Hobie Plastic welder on Amazon.com

My repairs arent as pretty as Clarks but for a DIY project it is great just takes a little practice.

Had the same exact thing happen on my 2012 cuda 12 which was purchased over at BCO. The guys over there took great care of me and helped me to get a new hull which from Jackson. Both companies were very willing to help
