Re: shrimp report
I tried on Saturday with the same results. I quickly packed up and left. It was not worth the effort.Catchneat wrote:caught a sandwhich size bag for bait friday night really had to work to get that many

Re: shrimp report
I was fishing at Highbridge Saturday and there were half a dozen boats right at the bridge catching plenty of good-sized ones.
Re: shrimp report
tried again today at doctors in let.still not much
Re: shrimp report
Thanks for all the reports. Long drive for me to go over there, but was well worth it last year.
Re: shrimp report
Been going to Shands bridge every other weekend - hoping to catch shrimp/bait. Saturday was the the same as the previous attempts.....got a total of 4 in about an hour ;-( When we arrived there were no boats which is always a bad sign and while we were there no other boats came by to cast a net. Been talking to some of the folks who live around there and was told there haven't been many boats out. I wonder if the rain lightens up if the run will finally kick into high?
Re: shrimp report
I was about 3 miles south of the hands from 5pm till midnight and got 6 shrimp. This was Saturday.

2007 Hobie OB SUV "Papaya" Bow modified for BIG Reds, with Turbo Fins. I can stand and scout, move on fishing hands free! Throw a 4' cast net 10' away wide open standing too!
Re: shrimp report
Went shrimping yesterday at the Shands Bridge again. Noon till about 1:15PM. High tide was about noon and the wind and tide was kickin. Got one the whole time. There were no other boats showing up either. Been like this all season. I think last year was a spoiler.
Going again next weekend to take a neighbor out for the first time. Hope things pick up.
I'll let ya know....

Re: shrimp report
It looks like this is just going to be one of those down years for shrimp. The nonstop rain this year has really put a damper on the season.
