SML 8/6
Cj_Tiz and I headed out at 630 to catch the infamous 'ladyfinger'. I struggled to land a couple of these pesky monsters while my buddy Cj (first time in SML) was killing it as far as bait goes. We fished the marsh islands on the way down to the tower throwing top water and sub-surface looking for bait and anything that would bite. eventually we made it down to the tower and started working the center and west side of the lake. No luck on getting anything to bite our fesh cut ladyfingers. As the morning grew on we decided to shift gears and started working the east side and things started to pick up. At about 10Am I had the first red of the day at 22". When i say the day statred it actually caught fire. Over the next 2 hours we landed 12 fish between us (11 reds and 1 trout). The trout and 3 reds were all under slot. I wanted to thank 'crusher' and all the previous posters on SML knowledge as this was my 10th trip and I finally caught fish worth eating. However the ellusive gator trout is still out there waiting for me.

Re: SML 8/6
You sound like you have learned one of the secrets of Guana. Time is a big key to catch them there. Guana is so big and the fish move around without the normal creek structure to find them. Glad you caught your slot fish and keep up the great posts.

Got to SML a bit later then I wanted. Talked to tmdfam out on the water for a bit, didnt have as much luck as he did though. Only managed a few small reds and a bunch of lady fish. Fun day on the water though!
