Re: Tide views preserve
QDOG...I have never fished Tide View Preserve, and I honestly found it by accident one time while heading to Dutton Island. I may be mistaken...old age is setting in....but I got out and checked it out and there was a long and crooked walk down the pier that I found, and there was NO water there at low tide so I could not launch or even fish from the pier....
Might have if mixed up with a "no named creek" down in South Jax Beach near Beaches Baptist Hospital...not certain tho.....Sorry!!!

Re: Tide views preserve
UPDATE: I just checked online thru Google and got Tideviews Preserve but in red lettering under the picture it said "CLOSED".
I called the Parks Dept. for Atlantic Beach at 247-5828 and left a message...think they were closed for lunch. If she calls me back, I will let you know....
Sorry....JYJ
UPDATE NUMBER TWO: Just spoke with Jen at the Parks Dept. at 1:30 and she confirmed my thoughts about Tideviews Preserve...it DOES have a winding dock or pier that goes out to the water and it would be a pretty long carry with a kayak and gear!!!
Guess I am not senile quite yet...LOL!!!
I will be up that way later today, and I will be checking it out....so...more later!!
JYJ
PS: It is NOT CLOSED and the hours that it is open are posted at the park.

Probably have more luck posting in a New York kayak fishing forum to get an answer to that question.Richard R. wrote:I have just started fishing before this I have no idea and experience about fishing. Re: Tide views preserve
Hey QDOG....just a quick update on Tide Views Preserve!!
I went out there about a week ago and a ranger told me to not take the main trail out to the launch area, but instead to take the wooden path to the right of the restrooms and it was MUCH shorter and quicker. The tide was better too, but I did not think to match it to Oak Harbor or someplace that I know better....Dang!!
Low tide from the elevated dock allowed me to check out the area, and there are plenty of small creeks around that area and TONS of oyster beds....should have taken a picture..DANG!!
As I was leaving, that same ranger told me about two lakes that are also right of the restrooms....further right about 90*....and one is saltwater fed and the other is a freshwater lake. I had my new ULTRA light flyrod (a six foot TFO Lefty Kreh 2 Wt. rod with a 1/0 TFO reel) and I did some practice casting with it....with a fly attached of course.....and I caught a little 13" largemouth bass in the FW lake....it was pretty sporty on the little limber rod.
Think that I will try that place sometime in my Tarpon 120, and maybe launch from Oak Harbor or Dutton Island and fish my way to Tide View..????
Anyway, just wanted you to know that the launch area looks VERY fishy if there is some water in there!!
