Anyone out there tried the Gulp mud minnows yet? I saw them in Walmart for the 1st time in the Sardine color, and they looked so realistic I couldn't pass them up. Might come in handy when the water gets cold and the live bait becomes hard to find. Would like to hear about what technique works best with them. My 1st attempt will be to rig them on a jig head and bump them off the bottom.

I tried the Gulp Mud Minnows and had some success. Just be sure to pair them with a wide gap or long shank hook because they are fairly thick. I first tried them with my standard jig head which has a 2/0 hook, and not much of the hook was exposed which resulted in some missed hook-ups. I would slowly bounce them off the bottom, and even slower now that the water is cooling down.

I've tried many of the saltwater Gulps and have caught fish with all of them, but I prefer the Swimming Mullets and Jerk Shads by far.

Good Luck!

and if you look at Mudfish's posts you can see a gulp product hanging out of most of their mouths.
