Lightweight fishing kayak
Looking for some suggestions for a lightweight fishing kayak in the 12 ft range. I have a 80+ lb wilderness systems ride 115x and sometimes I just don't feel like lugging that thing around and using the ratcheting system to get in on my roof when I'm alone. Also, i'd like to have another kayak to bring friends with me. Thanks in advance.

The Heritage Featherlite is only $249. Awesome little sit inside kayak. 45lbs.

Get the Ocean Trident, 60lbs and it's one of the fastest paddle yaks on the Market.

Thanks guys. A canoe, sit in kayak, sit on top kayak, and sup. Lots to think about. The sup is intriguing. Would it be safe to cross the ICW on a sup?

What kind of budget are you targeting?

Mini x is sweet.
I have one I got at Strike Zone last year.
Much easier to carry than the X Factor I have.

The mini x does look sweet especially for my wife or when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to lug around the heavy kayak.
Re: Lightweight fishing kayak
I went with the mini x from strike zone. Took it for a quick test ride and it is extremely stable (a little slow) but to be expected for such a short and wide kayak. I was even able to stand up in calm water- very cool for only a 10 ft kayak. They are having a tent sale and they hooked me up. Definitely go check out strike zone if you are looking for fishing stuff!

Re: Lightweight fishing kayak
cool.
speakin of, how was the "Tent Sale" this time? Any "can't resist" deals? Wasnt too impressed the last go around.....
back in the day I've spent a small fortune at those things though.

Actually i went in yesterday while they were setting up the tent sale, but he still gave me the sale on the kayak a day early. I also bought a seat and he threw in a folding measuring stick for free for good luck haha. Great guys there! The sale looked massive and they told me some stuff would be 50% off or more but i haven't been back to see.Plan B wrote:cool.
