Fishy Hobie PAs for sale in Kingsland

So on swip swap man cave there is an individual selling 2 Hobie PA without the drive or cover. Doesn't even have a paddle. Told me he uses a boat oar. Something doesn't add up. He has 2 that are well equipped and seem to be a husband and wife combo. Anyone recognized them???

That definitely does not add up. 2 PAs and no Mirage drive between them! Those look like 2013 models.

Those are totally stolen or something. I'm going to call and pick at them tomorrow to start a fire.

2 guys in Jacksonville already bought them. I saw them posted on the Dirty Duval Kayakers Facebook page.

I feel for the buyers. The buyers explanation was:

"I completely agree with you that's why we had the seller give us the serial number before meeting. It's all clean.. They were originally purchased from black creek and were used for a kayak expedition company. When the company sold them as they upgraded to the new year model they did not include the drive or paddles.."

These are $3500 kayaks and those are 2013 and newer models as you can tell by the seats. What company would sell them just to upgrade to the new models when you can expand your fleet with the new purchase? I see reinvesting he money but I'm sure if they were sold they were sold at a huge loss especially since the mirage drives and paddles were not sold as well. Plus what "kayak expedition company" stickers up there kayaks like a typical angler?

Still to me does not sound like a legit sell. For the buyer I just hope it doesn't come back to him if somehow this turns out to be stolen property sold. Buyer would be out cash and kayak until and if he could be compensated through court issued restitution.

Well, if the buyers story on the serial numbers is true and they checked, then if they are stolen, those who had them taken file the serial numbers with the police report. Does seem a bit "fishy."

Yeah who know.... whoever had them stolen (if they were stolen) should of had the hull numbers reported. Also the new owners said they checked with FDLE but the kayaks were purchased from a kid in Georgia. Hmmmmm I wonder if the state to state database talk to eachother.

If a deal is "too good to be true" it usually is. Personally I think these are stolen. If they aren't listed on the fdle database they may have been stolen in Georgia or elsewhere. Otherwise the owner did write down the serial numbers
