I have less money invested in my 25 mph Custom Gheenoe NMZ with a 15hp plus my WS Tarpon 12 than some of these new boats cost. Makes me feel like an old, too lazy to paddle far, astute investor, fisherman

Re: knew it was coming
Well said Eddie - Cobra you are on notice!
Personally I like ability to have reverse - one of the worst habits I have seen from many Hobie anglers is the failure to use the paddle when fishing. Too many folks keep making endless circles forward thru the fishing spot with the pedal drive spooking fish. Pedals are great for going places but other than that I'd rather have a paddle in hand for fine control when fishing. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a wilderness ride 115x. Would be nice if they came out with a peddle drive you could mount in the console hole.
Re: knew it was coming
Should be plenty of pedal drives coming out, especially since Hobie's original drive patent has recently expired... I would also not be surprised to see an exact clone of Hobie's come out of China - I saw one at iCast couple years back but they were forced to remove it from show...

My Perception Sport kayak already had mind control steering -- unfortunately, it would steer with a mind of its own, so I had to get a rudder.jaxjag44 wrote:Mind control steering will be next. If you make it big with that, please send royalties! Thanks.

Come to think of it, the trolling motor on my Scanoe does that sometimes, too. You'd think I'd start getting insulted that my plastic navy is apparently smarter than me, but maybe I'm not getting insulted because it actually is...???
