Got my orders a couple of days ago and i am off to Guam in June. i have finally started to get the hang of inshore kayak fishing and now i have to learn how to go BTB, due to there being no fishing regs in Guam (or people not caring about them) there is practically no inshore fishing. is there anyone here who would be willing to give me some pointers or let me tag along on there next outing in the ocean on a yak? any help will be appreciated. i want to learn how to do this here so when i get there i am ready and waiting for my outback to be shipped to me. if i am lucky enough to catch anythuing out there i will post pics here.

I am from Guam. You are going to be in for a treat.

Kayak fishing is still growing back home. Surf fishing is huge. Of course, Off shore is amazing. Fishing inside the reef will be nice but the bigger fish tend to appear at night. There are deep channels that are clearly visible to the naked eye (they are dark blue) that will hold larger fish. You will be able to jump out of your yak and spear the fish.

Fishing outside the reef can be dangerous (BTB), but very rewarding. As a kid, I used to stand on the reef and catch Mahi, GTs, and snappers by casting into the deep blue using a bobber and assorted baits. Either way, you will be in for a treat.

Please post reports when you are able. I am anxious to get more homesick. There aren't many folks posting kayak fishing videos from the island.
