I launched a little later than I planned this morning, around 10:00 AM. The thunderstorms arrived much sooner than I expected, but I still managed to catch five Reds (two slots: 19" & 24"), and some small Croakers and Sheepsheads. I caught the first Red (24") with a Super Spook, working the grass line, and I caught the rest of the Reds with Gulp Jerk Shads (Green & Copper). Short, but fun trip.

Hey Mudfish....I was getting on here to ask you a question, but saw this new post by you...and Congrats on your day...again!! Short but sweet!!

Speaking of "short"...is that last picture a "lamb's head"....J/K!!

Wanted to know if you have the name on the package of those "green & orange" Gulp Jerk Shads....they usually have some goofy name like "Electric Chicken" and I am headed out with some guys next week with some guys from VA, NC, WV, and even Colorado who come to Jax every year....they will be here Sunday, 4/14, and I am using them as an "excuse" to start kayak fishing again.....they will leave the following SAT and wished you could join us...??
Thanks....JYJ

Hey, John!

Yep, I meant to mention that those small Sheepsheads are a menace. I was hoping to get a slot Black Drum or two, but those small Sheeps and Croakers ate all my bait before I could catch a single Black Drum.

Wish I could join you on Sunday, but I have family commitments. Maybe the next weekend?

Name on the package is Berkley Gulp Saltwater 5" Jerk Shad. I've just been choosing the darker colors: Watermelon Red Glitter, Rootbeer Gold, and Camo, all with similar results. I just bought a pack of Pearl White to try on my next trip.

Good Luck!
