...get a fish to lay still enough and long enough on a measuring board for a photo in a CPR (catch-photo-release) tournament when the rules say 1.) can't use hand to hold the fish 2.) no lip-holding device 3.) no bungee, strap, etc. to secure fish to measuring. :?:

All fish will flip and flop some, but a flounder will do cartwheels to get out of a yak!

Advice? Thanks!

what tournament are you fishing that says..

3.) no bungee, strap, etc. to secure fish to measuring. ???

Most tournament approved bump boards have bungees for this exact purpose....never heard of that one, and not sure how you would accomplish that with out being able to secure them.

Hey Kahuna13....Perfect answer by you and you "aced" it!!!

Any CPR (Catch-Photo-Release) Tourney allows some type of "restraints" to hold the fish when measuring it....and I have fished kayak tourneys in FLA, GA, NC, and TN.

Our long time buddy in here makes them especially for Tourney fishing!!
Scroll down the Forums until you see the one from VonZipper:

Rule Variations – After getting down the basics, know the specific rules of your event. Some allow the mouth to be open with the lip touching the board, while some require a closed mouth. Some events allow stringers, clips or other methods of securing a fish and others do not. In some cases you may pinch the fish tail while measuring and in some you cannot. Know the specifics of your event to avoid any deductions or disqualifications during turn-in.

Fish Stik (YakGear), Hawg Trough, Ketch: none of these come with bungees. What brand/mfg. of a measuring device that is "tournament-approved" (which tournaments) have bungees?

The reply is posted was in reference to saltwater yak tournaments and most of us use the VonZipper board as John referenced above.

I noticed that your links were for bass fishing tournaments, which I have no experience with, so i really can't comment on those or what normal protocol is there.

Just assumed that you were talking saltwater when you mentioned flounder......my bad.
