Is it true that vehicles are now NOT permitted to drive to the water's edge to launch a kayak at the western end of the Hwy 206 bridge on the south side of the bridge? Thanks in advance for info.

100 views but NO replies? I was told this was a fairly popular area for kayak fishing. Anybody?

I only fish that area on occasion and have not been down there since the spring and you could launch there then. I do not believe many from the Jacksonville area fish down there very often. The driving surface up to the waterfront has deteriorated in recent years without remediation.

I shore fished there last week at VERY HIGH tide 2 reds on soft plastic. and yes the entrance road has broken down but not sure of launching. I will check back this week. There is a small launch directly across the river that is free but has limited parking

Hello LastCast and Welcome to JKF!!
If you look above and to the right of the JKF logo, you will see a link...FISHING SPOTS.
Check it out and scroll down the right column to get places south of JAX, and Crescent Beach is right there. http://www.jaxkayakfishing.com/moses206.html

Interesting that the Google Map link is dated 2018 so it should be fairly accurate.
Thanks for the input from Syl17 also!!

PS: Another good source of info that that area would be David Hernandez who owns/operates "Saint Augustine Paddle Sports" at 233 State Road 16, Suite A.
His # is 904-290-3869 and please tell him that I sent you!!

JohnYaksJax,

Thanks for the info. I telephoned Mr. Hernandez this afternoon: he said the area in question is accessible by vehicle for kayak launching.
