What is the best roof top kayak carrier for a Ford Transit Connect Wagon? Still have the pickup but the Transit is much more secure for the gear. I do have the Ford roof rack and cross bars already but would love something that would boost the boat up.

I have a set of these on my roof rack and I really like them.

Are you still in a Wavewalk? If you have a more of a single-hull kayak now, I would recommend the Malone SeaWings. They're super easy to use for loading and tying down a kayak on the roof, but it really needs to be a mostly single-hull kayak. The newer Malone MegaWing (a larger version) can be used for some of the newer big tri-hull kayaks, but I don't think any of them will work with a catamaran style hull like the Wavewalk. The Malone SeaWing can frequently be found locally at Academy Sports.

I use the regular SeaWings with my Perception Sport Destiny/Scout kayak, but for my Perception Striker 11.5 (which is a wider, tri-hull style kayak) I would need the MegaWings.

For my beefy wide Field & Stream Shadow Caster kayak, neither will work (the stern end is too wide), so I when I rarely rooftop it, I use Rhino Rack Nautic Series 581 REAR Loading saddles. They work pretty well for getting the kayaks up on the roof, but they require a lot more initial tweaking/adjusting (especially if I switch kayaks), which is a pain. If you only have one kayak and can set it and forget it, then it's not too bad.
