Not sure if this has been covered before so if it has please share a link. I’m new to saltwater kayak fishing, well saltwater fishing all together. I just moved here from Colorado and I am ready to get on the water.

What safety gear is a must have to get out on the water? PFD is a given, I’m sure some sort of signaling device is required I’ll look up what the coast guard recommends. What does everyone have at all time.

the search feature on this site may help you look for some answers as well.

I just replied to your inquiry in the "lets go fishing" sub forum as well.

Ha! Small world. I used to live there too. I lived just north of Chatfield reservoir. Check out this article and pay attention to #9 and #10.
