Threefold Cruise

We had heard that there were some new trees down upstream from our place on Crooked Creek. We understood that it may be impassible or even impossible to get to some of our favorite spots.

There was only one way to find out. After getting our chores done earlier today, Maximus Relaximus and I loaded up the Carp Shark for another adventure! We had several goals in mind as our Aircraft Carrier like canoe slid up the creek. I wanted to see if our access was blocked and just in case I brought my bowsaw. I also wanted to set up my Stealth Camera somewhere up the creek in hopes of capturing a photo of maybe a Deer, Beaver or Otter.

Our third goal was to see if we could do a bit of cane pole fishin’! We have some special guests lined up over the next few days/weeks and I wanted to check things out.

There were indeed a couple of new trees down, but Max and I were able to snake our way all the way up to Clyde’s Cove. I set up the camera in a good spot hoping to get some good photos and hoping that it won’t get stolen. We will go get it before the weekend, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Not everyone likes to paddle up a creek with only a dog, a cane pole and a cup of worms but I dearly love it. I leave my cares on the dock along with my shoes and for two or three hours I am a boy again. We tried a few familiar places and I can assure that although small, the fish were hungry and plentiful! I can’t wait to put my guests on some of these cane busters!!

It was a great afternoon and when our six bare feet stepped back onto the Dachshund’s Dock I knew it had been time well spent!

Nice one.

From the looks of Max's ears, its as though he's giving a Scoobie-Doo-like "Heo-uuuhh?!" at first sight of the blockage.

Max is a trooper. Things weren't as bad as the look. Still needs a bit more work but that will give us something to do.
