Launched the yaks at 7:30 fished the falling tide with white gulp shrimp caught a few 15-17 inch reds but something I've personally noticed lately as well as from talking to other guys on the water is that mud minnows or finger mullet on a jig head are working pretty well for slot reds right now, so we stopped and caught 2 dozen mud minnows then started bouncing bottom underneath docks and sure enough we started seeing better fish we caught 2 reds at 22 inches a 25 incher and 2 more 17-18,s they were biting pretty well then the rain started and the wind kicked up so being without rain gear we headed back around 10:00 after catching a total of 8 fish, the 25 and one of the 22,s made it home for dinner, only caught redfish not another species caught.

Nice report!

Looks like a nice day of fishing.

I put in at Palm Valley and have been running south, I might try running north sometime soon. I need stop fishing the same exact spot over and over. I'm fishing in a boat now.

Thanks! I do the same thing as well. I used to fish st Augustine primarily and need to spend more time exploring around there.

Where do you launch from at Palm Valley? I've been going to Tarpon Hole quite a bit as there is a hidden launch right by my apartment at the end of JTB, but I would like to try out somewhere different. I was considering launching next to the bait shop down on Palm Valley Rd but is it possible during low tide?

Most of the areas around here seem to dry up until about halfway into incoming tides, forcing me to go out to Dutton.

Hello Brutal & Welcome to JKF!!!
I just saw your post and wanted to let you know that all the info and maps that you want are in here....look above and you will see: "FISHING SPOTS"....and go there!!

The area that you are requesting is in the RIGHT hand column, and above it says:
"South of Little Jetties - ICW".
Scroll down and you will see most of the better creeks and launch areas and info on the launch, nearby bait & tackle shops, degree of difficulty, and maps (altho some of them so not work very well).
There is a prompt/link in pink/burgundy that says: "Click here for the Jax Graphical Mega-Map View".....and it gives you a good idea of where the creeks are.
It goes all the way down to Crescent Beach/Flagler County.

Tip #1....learn your tides the further you get from Mayport adds some time to the Tides Tables. These are dependent on winds...but you will learn them.
Tip #2...Learn to fish the Outgoing...Dead Low...and Incoming Tides!!
The fish that leave the small creeks during outgoing will be in very low water at Low Tide, but the baitfish and shimp will then follow the Incoming water way back in, and the fish we target will follow the bait!!! Next time you cross the JTB Bridge, look at all the water for fish...and they are VERY concentrated at dead low....and VERY spread out at High!!

That is enuff for now, and good luck!!

PS: Two new launch areas are down at the SR 210 Bridge over the ICW. Nocatee launch is on the west side of the bridge and the new Palm Valley Outdoors is on the east side, and both are good areas and not TOO tide dependent to launch at Low. PVO also has a bait shop and a very good restaurant.

That's where I launch, Palm Valley Outdoors. I like having a bait/tackle shop, nice restaurant and bar with cute girls right there. Though I usually don't stay to eat or drink after a fishing session. But its nice having the option.

As far as the fishing south of there, its crowded. But with the endless development its not going to get better, only worse, so just have to deal with it.
