It's been a long time since I had anything to post about, due to a variety of circumstances. But I managed to get out to Oak Harbor today. I fished the last of the falling tide and a bit of the incoming. I managed one fat 18" trout on a shrimp under a float rig, and three reds - none legal - with shrimp on a jighead.

The trout bite was enthusiastic and the fight was pretty strong. The redfish bites were lethargic and tentative, even the 30"er (the others were 15" and 16"). The big one fought well.

No pictures, so I guess it didn't happen, but that trout was tasty!

Tadpole,
Hey man! Great to see you post! I've been checking in but haven't had anything really to post about. Alexandria is a whole different fishing scene to say the least. I bought a 4# fly rod and an ultra-light spin caster that I threw a Stradic 1000 on with some 4# mono. I couldn't find a store up here that could spool a reel (Man I miss ABT, Strike Zone, Etc.) So I got creative and with the help of a street sign I got it spooled, funny story.
