I’ve completed the first step and purchased a kayak, the Hobie Outback. With rod holders, a seat and paddles I have the bare essentials covered but wanted some input on what you guys consider “essentials” on your fishing set ups. I have a stainless stake to anchor with and I’m going to use a milk crate with my 5 gal Live well to store bait.

What kind of stocking stuffers should I ask Santa for? Thanks for the help! Taking the maiden voyage next week, extremely excited!!

Anchor trolley is a must. Might wish to add a FF/GPS

GPS for sure. I have actually ended up turned around in the far back creeks in new areas and had to use my GPS to figure out where to back track.

Agree with you there. Minimum is a basic sonar/gps combo of some type. I fish primarily Gulf inshore and the coastline, creek mouths, etc can all look the same after a while. That GPS track will get you home every time! :thumbleft:
