Trying to decide between Mango or Sand colored Tarpon. I have a Olive Ride 135, looks good but gets hot in summer and shows every scratch.

Like Mango for visibility, but how does Mango compare to Sand for showing scratches and getting hot in Texas sun.

I've had Tarpons in both colors. Not a difference, as far as I could tell.

Sure Catch is only partially joking I am pretty certain!! Eddie wants to "blend into the shoreline" when he is on his Honey Holes!!! :thumbright:

I prefer the brighter colors to increase visibility and safety!!
When that jet skier is flying around the bends on Simpson Creek or Myrtle Creek, I prefer to be SEEN instead of blending into the marsh grass....and even worse is hearing the ROAR of an airboat and hoping that they will see you as then are skimming ACROSS the marsh grass!! That spooks me on the Gulf Coast.....and brightly colored paddle blades are a big help since you can hold the paddle in the air vertically and wave it back and forth!!! Just sayin'.......

PS: Those are just my personal opinions, and "the customer is always correct".....LOL!!

Like the Mango, Lime and Sand, but concerned about glare with lime and Mango.

My mango hobie does not get hot at all that I've noticed. I would say scratches show up less than most colors too. My red dagger shows the scratches much more than the mango, but then again I'm rarely staring at the bottom of my kayak. :smoke:

I have grown partial to the sand color.. look at some of my pics, i simply wear bright clothes to be seen and paddle a light colored paddle...the sand don't seem to spook the fish when drifting throught a school by accident

Went to a local dealer to take a look at WS Colors, Mango, Lime, Sand, Dusk(Orange/Black), Desert Camo.
They had some of their rentals in these colors outside on trailer in sun.

Criteria: 1.Temperature at Touch, 2.Glare, 3.Visibility, 4.Retard Scratches

1. Temp Ranked hottest to Coolest

Dusk- Mango/Lime- Sand/Desert Camo

2. Gare. Most to Least Amount

Lime-Mango- Sand/Desert Camo/Dusk

3. Visibility Most to Least

Lime-Mango- Desert Camo-Sand-Dusk

4. Retard Scratches. Best to Least

Dusk-Sand-Mango-Desert Camo-lime

Most important is personal preference and what you feel safe in.

Think I'm going with Sand
