 Post subject: Stake Out Pole Build

Here's my idea for a SOP:

I used the follwing materials:
(1)- 4' X 1 1/4" OD fiberglass pole,
(1)-4' X 1" OD fiberglass pole,
(1)- 4' X 3/4" OD fiberglass pole
(3)- 3/4" Quick Release Push Buttons (plastic)
(1)- 1 1/4" PVC end cap

Step 1. Cut poles as described above.

Step 2. Drill Holes for the Quick Release Buttons approx 1" from pole end.

Step 3. Insert Quick Release Buttons into poles.

Step 4. Place Smaller poles into the larger ones.

Step 5. Place PVC end cap over end of 1 1/4" pole

Assembled the pole should extend to about 11 feet.

Stored the Pole is about 4 feet. Enjoy!

Nice... Will the SOP fit in your scupper hole? Or are you just going to tie off on it?

Sure, you can tie it off, put it in scupper, put it on trolley, etc...

Actually, that would make a great push pole. Do the varied size pipes fit snug? What kind of point are you going to put on it. Those oyster bars can get pretty tough and fiberglass will shatter if your jamming it down on something.
