Today was the slowest day at SML I've ever had. Between four of us we caught 3 tiny lady fish. I used everything I had in the tackle box to throw at them. There was not much breeze for a change and for the first time I was hoping for one. It was HOT. I talked to a couple people out there and no one had caught anything. The thing was, we had a great time anyway. I got to hang with some buddies on the water, have a couple cold ones and soak some bait. Met up with a newbie from the site and enjoyed having him join our crew. I'd spend a day like this not catching anything over going to work anytime. Hope everyone else enjoyed their day this much. We've already made a new plan for next week so hopefully I can post some good pics then.

SML is very slow right now. The water is so muddy right now. Had a number of good days there pre-Debbie but nothing since. Going to look elsewhere for the next couple of weeks.

Same deal at browns creek today. Saw a lot of kayakers and talked to a few but did not hear about much catching. We only managed a little jack and ray.

I did see a few shrimp starting to show up and the baitfish are a plenty. How long does it normally take for the salinity to return after a washout like we had with Debbie?

I was out at browns yesterday, you probably saw me getting stuck in the sand on dead low :)

After the tide turned there was an hour period where it was hot. Snagged an undersized trout and a couple baby flounders, 4 reds and 2 of them happened to be 18-19" so I at least got to take them home. I'd say probably around 11:30 the bite turned off and then I didn't get anything but a couple croakers.

I need to try out Guana but after hearing these reports I'll wait a bit for it to clear up.

Nice, we're you the kayak with the flag in the back? Looked like you were tossing arties?

That wasn't me, but I saw who you're talking about. I was in an olive green kayak, and I was throwing arties/topwater in the early am.

Just experienced the same thing at SML with me and the two boys today. Had a great first trip there on the first clear day after Debby, but today when we went back for more we ended up with nothing but a lot of sweat. We did get about a dozen solid strikes, but nothing made it to the canoe. I think it was just too hot for everyone, including the fish.

Oh, well. Mama said there'll be days like this, there'll be days like this, my mama said! :(
