I was just wondering what adhesive you guys are using when attaching the sticker to your measuring boards? I would think that the sticker would come off if you didn't any additional adhesive...

Thanks in advance

PJ

Clear plastic wrapping tape. While most tournaments use the 321, the IFA requires you use their version of the 321 (with IFA logo). You usually end up exchanging these measure boards couple times a year.

The 321Fish STICKER comes with its own adhesive. The best way to apply it is to do a wet setup onto your measuring board or jig so you can sueegee out the bubbles and then when it dries it will be bonded.

Jerry is refering to the 321FIsh measuring boards which are pre-printed on flat PVC - these are the devices you get at the Classic or an IFA event.

Mike so basically peel of the back of the sticker, spray it and the pvc board with water, line it up to the end cap and lay it down then squeegee out the water?

Thanks
PJ

Here's how I would do it.

Clean the board first.

Prepare a spray solution that is a couple of caps of rubbing alcohol, and a dollup (just a tenny bit) of soft ivory liquid soap (or equivalent). This solution will enable you to do a wet applicaiton and it will evaporate.

Spray the solution on the board generously. Peel the sticker and put it on the board - spray the back of the sticker too a bit. If you have enough solution you should be able to slide the sticker to where you want it. The sticker is made with a kiss cut at the proper place for a zero measurement against the board front - do not cut the sticker near the zero.

Once the sticker is on use a squee gee or credit card to move the water out from under the sticker, gently removing all bubbles. Use a paper towel to absorb the liquid that comes out the sides etc.

Allow it to dry overnight.

When doing a wet application you will not have any bubbles etc. When doing a dry application air bubbles are hard to avoid and you typically pop them with a pin then smooth them out.

There are quite a few videos and links to sources on the internet of how to do a vinyl sticker application that are also helpful. The ticks of adding alcohol and a dab of liquid soap were shown to me by a local sticker pro.
