I must be getting old as I cannot see how this is going to set up as a "KAYAK" for fishing. It looks kind of like a confused motor boat. Were are you suppose to set in it or do you stand up? what is the big square hole in the middle for? It looks like a center beam, wont it rock bad when a boat goes past it pretty fast? I don't see it as a kayak option yet. JMO.

Its Not a kayak. No one ever said it was a kayak. Just like the name says, its a Solo Skiff.
Designed and produced by the most sought after skiff designer in NE Florida.

Something very similar is for sale on the boards here at BCKFC. Pretty cool but I like the closed design better.

"it’s the One Man fishing boat powered kayak like skiff that goes anywhere any other boat does ?"

HaHa... another thing I want but don't need.
Sure is pretty with that little baby motor on it...

I really like the idea but it does not look like it poles very true... what size engine is it rated for?

The Solo Skiff poles well, and I mean really well. The short video does not make a case for how it poles due to the fact the guy poling it wasnt really trying to pole anywhere, he was just trying to figure out what I wanted him to do so I could video the skiff. The boat poles as good as any skiff I have ever poled... I invite you to come see for yourself, Id be more than happy to let you try as it speaks for itself.... :D

Tom

I love the innovation. I can see people already comparing it to the Gheenoe, a kayak, the Hobie PA, and a duck boat. It has aspects of each and yet it's totally different. It looks to me like a very good platform for people that target sight casting for fish.

I think Tom was the original designer and builder of the Mitzi skiff and the Inshore Power Boat skiff, so I suspect the boat probably poles very well.

So come on Tom, where exactly can someone see and try out this new type of fishing boat?

with this:

http://www.basspro.com/MotorGuide-Wirel ... 000234a96f

one could mount a solid back seat on the hatch cover and sit while cruising.

I really like it. I have a bad back so I could stay in it a long time with a decent chair. Of course I would have to have help moving it.
