I fish Ortega all the time but not on that side of the ortega bridge. I have fished it before and have caught stripers but that I think was in August. I haven't fished all those creeks I've really only fished the docks. I catch tons of trout and reds can be really hit or miss. Sometimes that's all I'll catch other times I won't see any signs of one. I like to use a live finger mullet on the bottom, DOA CAL series lures, and small diving plugs

There's fish to be had in that area depending on the salinity of the water you may get saltwater fish, or you may get largemouth. In any case, I wouldn't eat anything out of there, as it's one of the most polluted parts of our river system.

the island behind ortega farms holds alot of red fish....the docks heading out to the river are also very productive...the in the summer is off the chain for yellow mouth and the entrance to Fishweir Creek is also good.

I fish there a lot during the week and find rattle traps work great for Reds and not bad for flounder if you start bringing up shells you are in the right place

I live off Collins Rd. any suggestions on a good place to safely launch? I'd love to fish the area.

fished off the little pier under the bridge (17) last night with some friends. cast net produced a couple tiny shrimp, and some small mullet. one of the shrimps caught a flounder.

Can put in at the ramp at Seaboard. I've had good luck fishing the docks around Ortega island.
