Did anyone fish there for the tourney or is it still muddy?

It was still muddy on tournament day. The water had come up some though.

I don't think he fished unless he put in at SML. He put in at the dam the weekend before the classic but didn't launch there on tournament morning.

Got up at 4:00 am on Saturday morning, checked the wind, it was allready at 9-10 knts. I DQ'ed myself, threw in the tm. Upon my arrival at 5:30, the parking lot was a ghost town and the wind was a fools bet out of the southeast. It was howling at 13knts. I was there so decided to fish awhile, figured I could hug the east shoreline and still manage dinner. While unloading, a few more anglers, yakers with questionable judgement "like myself"showed and decided to fish.
It started out ok, I nailed a few trout, dinks and a 17" red dragging one of the new sst's we got in our captians bag. By 10:00 the wind had picked up considerably and was now blowing out of the ESE. It was starting to cap, been there enough times to know what comes next. On my way back I encounterd a large black snake swimming towards shore. My natural reaction is to poke it with a stick, instead I just watched its movement through the water, what a great looking bait that would make. Anyway I'm rambling, I did make it back safe and sound and will be back on the water again in the am.

way past my bed time, C.

My son and I put in at SML Friday with no problems but being from Charleston we did not have a refernce to go by as far as water levels. We did have to wait for a gator to move out of the channel coming back in but at least we could see him. The ones here in we usually catch going around a bend in a small creek.

We put in at the dam Sat for the tourney for a differnt view of things nice easy launch and a little breezy at times.
