academy has a 30lb thrust trolling motor for 99$, thinking about rigging up the yak. What do you think? good idea? is 30 lb thrust enough?

Eh...........
The enduras are alright.....but make super duper sure you rinse it completely EVERYTIME you take it out. Esp in salt water. My buddy got one last year for his gheenoe and it is destroyed now. It was awesome new though......he just doesn't take care of his stuff at ALL.

Don't forget.....if you put this motor on your yak, you then have to register your yak...get numbers on the side....carry your registration at all times, and renew it every year.

Oh...... and 30lbs of thrust on your kayak will basically put you on plane. Lol.

I have the same and its more than enough! Just make sure to wash it down with fresh water after every use. In fact If I have the time to do it, I run the motor for 2 minutes inside a bucket of fresh water after I get home.

Use something like Salt Away or Salt X or Salt Terminator when you wash it. Helps.
