I remember seeing these things on tv and always thought of them as another one of those yeah right kinda rigs, but a friend of mine gave my a kit with a million different colors and I was thinking how neat it would be to catch a red on them just to say I have, but I havnt a clue how to rig them, anyone know how?

They work great. Just attached a jighead with a live mudminnow on each one of the blades. Any color will work.....

I looked up to the same guys, I worked on a fish farm that raised barrmundi in central Florida and was stoaked when I heard bill dance was coming to fish, but a little disappointed when he said "yeah we can get the boat in there, 90% of all our shows are filmed in 5 acre ponds" no wonder those baits worked so well, I use to catch 15 pound barrmundi on a bare hook lol

Guilty of the helicopter lure also lol I have a Alabama rig I haven't caught anything on either. My dad got the alabama rig to we where fishing in salt springs and he caught a 18" flounder on it. Crazy the saltwater fish that are in lake George and salt springs we have caught 15lb jacks, and like 3' long tarpons, and probably the biggest lady fish at like 3'.

Fishing with a friend in San Diego a few years ago he spoke very highly of the Helicoper Lures. They were just the ticket for fishing the old WW2 aircraft carrier concrete dock pads in the bay. Lures tossed near the sides would back up under the edges and head under the rigs. It was a tough place to work a lure unless it would backup under the huge concrete sections. Helicoper baits were just the ticket.

Don't forget to put the line dancer on when you rig your Helicopter lure. http://www.youtube.com/user/mylinedancer?v=wtoxu7altPo
