Buddie and I went to three bridges in hopes of landing a pair of reds. The tide was in its last hour of going out. We went to THE SPOT and immeaditly started catching fish. I ended up hooking up this bonnethead on my first cast.
Then we started catching some Reds. We ended up keeping two. Its odd but the reds in that specific area, always seem to have a ton of spots. One of the reds had 12 spots. Kind of curious as to why this is? Maybe conquincidence.

A snook hit my buddies topwater but it did not hook up. Recasted and a ladyfish ruins any chance of landing the snook.

Overall another fun day of fising at the bridges.

I have noticed that about the reds in that area too, the last one I caught there had 11 on one side and as many or more on the other. They do always have at least 3 or 4 per side

You know I am always down for fishing. Might want to hit up tomoka... saw a few tarpon rolling and I know the snook are going to start stacking up in the basin.

Awesome catch!! What did you catch the bonnet on? I got one that big a few years ago, and we gutted it immediatly and bled its tail while it was still alive as I've heard that they urinate through their skin and you want to stop that process while they are alive. The meat was actually really good, it was like swordfish.

Caught it on a live shrimp on a 1/8oz jig head. We were just letting it drift up current.

I have heard they are decent to eat, but I always release them after a quick pic.

That is a great picture of you cheesin. Awesome catch as well. I want to have some shark for dinner soon. I am going out with my buddy for a few hours down the street in the pond. He was there today and missed a bass that he wants to go find in the morning.

I have seen a few rolling in the Tomoka and two at the bridges. I have yet too hook one up this year but it's still early. I believe we should start seeing alit more of them in the next few weeks.
