I'm going to try to get after some cobia for my first time later in the week and I ran into problem while getting my rig set up. I normally use a uni to uni for all of my leaders and it works fine for my 10lb braid to 20lb fluoro inshore setup. However, after tying this with 50lb braid to 60 lb fluoro, the knot was too big to pass through the guides.
Should I use a different knot? Should I take fewer wraps? (6 on each side)
Thanks for any advice!

Take a look at the kayak fishing for tarpon article on the articles page. I have the same issue typing 35-50lb braid to 40lb fluoro.
The thing to do is tie a spider hitch in the braid which doubles it. Then do a uni-to-uni and the sizes should match up better.

Thanks Mike, that solved the problem. It's always nice learning a new knot. Now I just have to find the cobia!

I do the same with spider hitch and uni to uni or spider hitch and albright. There's another knot I'll find a link for the video. I believe it's a little more difficult but good strength.
