Met up again with my new fishin buddy Arun. First thing we went over to Chicopit to catch some Finger Mullet. We had to work pretty hard for them but the work paid off and we set off for the inlet with a full live well. Reached our destination and dropped in some line. Wasn't long before we had our first Red of the day. Arun pulls up a very nice 26.5" red. In the box he goes. Minutes later i get my first Red of the day, a 28" fish that got put back in the water after some revival. Later on i manage to get 2 more over slot Reds, 29" and 31". The Red fish bite slowed down so we spent the last hour or so beating on the Whiting. Probably caught 20 or more. Soon after, we called it a day.
Did have some very massive fish hook ups today that were lost. Something got on my line that felt like it should have been a boat... ran line like a King fish but, we will never know. Arun lost his fair share of monsters as well. Disappointing but, that's fishing. Great day on the water as always Arun. Thanks for going along man.

Outstanding reds fellas, you guys are killing it. Steve, I see so many people drop a lot of green into a skiff only to have it sit idle most of the time. Not you, your boat is begging for a break. Props, C.

You get any cobia? Drop by and say hello next time. Always good to meet the JKF regulars.

I would of swung by if Arun wasn't hooked up. Didn't see ya when I was coming in though. Tough day on the cobia. Saw one free swimmer that wouldn't eat anything! and probably was able to spot around 15-20 rays or group or rays on the day. My friend that I was with has a video of two rays bigger than the 18' pro-line I was in come right up to us, splash at the surface and dive under us. I had ears on 4 other boats that day and none hooked up and one professionally fished for them last year when he lived in Jax so I didn't feel as bad. Not a single ray we spotted had a visible Cobia but we still worked everyone we saw and did catch a big remora off of one with a squid on a jig. If your ever interested in trying let me know! I will share any knowledge or join ya if I am not working

Bummer on the lack of Cobia. Me and Arun hit the beach briefly and didn't see any signs at all. how far out did you go? we were maybe a bit over a mile out. Ill definitely hit you up. Haven't had any success in that area of fishing.

Crusher is right. You use your boat, what a concept. I wear my PA out, too. As it should be. People say they don't have time, and I can't argue that, but I make time when it comes to fishing!
