With the tides looking almost like they will in the classic i decided to do some prefishing. Started out the morning with a lil 12in flatty. He went back to work on his size before the classic. I then hooked up with a big trout right at the boat and had him coming right to the net when he spit the hook. I'm guessing he was about 25in give or take an inch. From there i moved onto a flat where i found alot of reds, sheephead and drum. Managed 2 reds witht he bigger one going 26inchs, and a 21in black drum. There were tons of sheep head on the flat and most were pretty big. I might be back toomorrow with some fiddlers for dinnner. Ended the day with a a 55inch slam not to bad for prefishing. Just need to make sure i find that big trout again for the classic and mayb a bigger flounder.

Doubt it will place this year  Lots of big fish around right now.

It's going to be a perfect tide for the classic this year. Just hope the weather coops

Last year not that many slams. The year before, not many big trout. But in general, it will take around 60" to make it into the top 5 slam. And this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a 29 or 30" trout to win big trout.

love to see someone catch a big 30" trout... Mainly if its me lol...Trout seem to be the only fish thats really decent every yr.. Havent seen a huge red or even a big flounder caught in any of the tourneys.. This may be the yr tho but cant wait to see what people bring in...

yeah the fall there are always 10lbers i get prob 10 over 8lbs this past yr but 10lbers arent around like they are in fall... think like 21" is the biggest flounder ever measured in classic which is a decent fish

Id be happy to land one like I got the other night on tourney day. I won't be going to Haulover to try and get it though haha. While id love to finish with a top 5 fish or slam I just want to put a slam on the board in my first classic/2nd yak tourney. Competition will be stiff and most good spots crowded, time to think outside the box for some numbers. Can't wait!
