My brother, nephew myself and backwater bound hit haulover yesterday afternoon about 4 to try something different.. There is a reason I dont fish that place very often.. We didnt catch alot thats for sure but think its because of the lack of rain most fish are way up river, in numbers anyway.. I caught maybe 15-20 trout a jack.. thought I had a monster trout zippin drag to only find out it was about a 4ft shark eating my trout while reeling it in.. Got half of it in atleast... Dj and cru got some lady fish and trout as well as backwater got 2 flounder and some trout.. Was good fishing with him and he is a cool guy will have to do it again when we can catch some fish... Good time on the water even tho not many fish were caught

Had a blast out there with you guys! May not have had fish fry style keeper numbers but the little schoolies are always fun. Wish I was around to see the trout assault, saw the aftermath though.....poor guy! I ended up with 8-10 lil guys, most on shrimp/minnows (I know I was cheatin haha). I did get a dink and both flatties on arties, shoulda freed the bait and kept after the flounder. First one was literally the smallest flounder I have seen let alone caught, luckily his big brother was hanging out nearby and decided to join me for dinner measuring in at 16.75". I'll post pics later, lil guys good for a laugh! Great time fishing with the Cabler boys, we'll get out there again for sure. Keep an eye out on the tourney leaderboards for the 2nd generation, Cru can fish and I bet his cousin is right up there with him. Not sure exactly how old he is, figuring about 8, but I know at that age it would be all my dad could do to keep me in check. Cru was all about catching some fish and practicing different techniques, awesome stuff!
