I fished yesterday for the first time since having cataract surgery on both eyes. WOW I can see again. I knew my vision was bad, but I didn't know how bad it had become. It is amazing to walk outside and look at trees that used to be green blurs, and now I can see individual leaves.

As for Guana. I launched at the dam and the fish were scattered, but they bit steadily until the wind switched from the west to the south and increased to over 20. The whitecaps running the lenght of the lake got really bad, so I quit fishing and started heading back. It took me 2 1/2 hours of hard paddling to get from the tower back to the dam. I was soaked and tired. While paddling back I met SEADOG. He was in a johnboat with a 3hp, and I would like to say thanks for keeping an eye on me in that rough water.

I ended up catching 16 trout. Six were slot fish with the biggest being 18in. I kept three and let the others go. I also caught a red bass about 20in.

It was good to be back fishing again.

I covered a lot of water casting white grubs, pink and pearl Paul Brown Fat Boys, and a shad colored Mirrolure.

Hey Clark
I'm glad you made it back safe and got some dinner too. It was crazy how hard the wind blew when it came around out of the south. I have been stuck out in the wind at Guana in a kayak before and it's no fun. I would never load up and leave knowing a fellow kayaker was still out in wind like that. I was just test running the motor that day(after a few repairs) and as I said im going to try some flounder gigging friday night.

In Guana troll jigs with paddle tails or curly tails to locate the trout schools. Once you have located them trow a cajun thunder with a 1/16 oz jig head and tail hook live shrimp or soft plastic to the school. Also the mirolure 17mr is like crack for trout. Just my 2 cents good luck

Yea, Mirrolures are good in the lake, they don,t look like they have much action but I guess that tight wobble is what does it. Just my 2 cents.
