My inlaws have a house right there in the first canal just north of the JTB Bridge so I put in there and headed out at about 5:15 last night. I headed out to cross the ICW and on the way I caught a small trout and my first flounder ever. So that was pretty cool. Neither big enough to keep. So I sat around there for a bit and nothing came of it. I set out across to my intended location, once over there I got into two more trout and this boat shows up. They just move right in on top of me then cut me off in the mouth of the creek I was moving up into. That kinda urked me but what can ya do? So they left shortly after that and I ended up catching a few more trout and another flounder. But the best part of the night was the big lady fish I caught. She hit the skitter walk hard and went vertical into the setting sunlight. Very awesome! Really made my night. I didn't see anything that I really thought looked like a Red. So, they have elluted me again. In total I caught 5 trout, 2 Flounder and a big Lady Fish. Not a bad night of fishing if you ask me.

Question when fishing with the jigs.... How are you all working them? Are you hoping it slowly off the bottome letting it sit for a bit or continusly hoping it? I have yet to get the first hit on one.

Sounds like a fun night of fishing. Hate it when people come right in on top of you. Especially when they see you catching fish. Ethics are not somes strong point.
I love fishing jigs. Have a lot of success with Gulp Alive 3 inch white shrimp on a jig head. Tie it on with a loop knot so that it will work naturally. What I do is raise the rod tip to about 10 o'clock and wind down on the slack all the way in.
Good luck and experiment with it. Everyone has their own personal preferance.
