Once while wading down in stuart i had a school of blues swim by that were attacking tiny baitfish and one decided to bite my waders. His tooth got stuck in them which allowed me to grab him bare handed. Those lil a--holes will try to eat anything if given the chance. I also like to give my bluefish a good throw when i catch them. I know its not being a good sportsman but they eat trout and i like my trout.
I couldn't agree more they can destroy a trout. when the blues are in a lot of the trout i catch have scars or wounds from the bluefish even the big trout.

Personally i think they are great. They fight like a fish much bigger then they are if you do not get a lazy one and when a school of them move through you can get one almost every cast. Sure they annihilate your soft baits, turn your hard baits into battle scared veterans and taste like you would get at a $2 all you can eat seafood buffet but they are fun to have on the end of your line none the less.
I don't mind eating and catching the bigger ones, but the small ones I hate.
