Me and Arunram went back out to Vilano today for a day of fishing. Was another hard day in terms of finding the fish. None of the fish were in their normal tides today  Couldn't find a Red fish to save our lives. As a last ditch effort to conserve our dignity, we decided to go after some Whiting. Did pretty well on them :) Caught my first ever LEGAL Sea Bass. 2 in fact.

That's a nice mess of fish. We went yesterday, couldn't bring anything in at the jetties. Caught a 15" sheepshead at Vilano Bridge. We were on the last of the incoming/first of the outgoing - it was tough finding biters also.

Nice fish. Way to turn your day around and get some good eats. Hard to beat those seabass for taste! Yummy.
Great job. :thumbright:

You are right. Now I have some in gold color, a couple in silver/chart and white/red color! That was like a good day of bass fishing, constant catch and release.

Arun.

Nice catching guys. A few years back, I remember catching good numbers of keeper sea bass and mangos at the bridge and rocks in Vilano. That was before the cold winters we had because since then I've caught them but mostly shorts. Hopefully this is a good sign for those fish populations here in shore. Good job again!

At $3.99 a pound at the fresh seafood market, not a bad haul I would say. ;)

I haven't seen any real come backs just yet on the Mangrove Snapper, but the Reds have been doing very well. Really wish the Sea Bass were bigger in the river. 99% of them are very short and annoying. May be some improvement though. never caught legal Sea Bass before so... maybe.

Ok and here's the finished product. My wifes kick ass Cajun fried Fish. The plate with the darker fried fish are Black Drum and Black Sea Bass, the one up close is Whiting.
was delicious.
