We went up to the US National whitewater center last week. While there, we watched the Canoe/Kayak Slalom Olympic trials (US/CAN). Very interesting and different from the kayaking we're used to. They have whitewater kayaking at the center as well, it looks like a lot of fun, but I didn't try it. Probably need to be in better shape for that. The USNWC is a great place to visit, they have a bunch of stuff to do both on water and land, including the afore mentioned whitewater kayaking, flatwater kayaking and paddleboards, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zipline, ropes courses, etc. Check out usnwc.org.

Hey OPharbor....Thanks for posting the info about the USNWC!!
I have not been there yet, but my daughter lives just 22 miles south of there in Charlotte, NC. A group of 17 of us kayak fished about 5 miles from there on the Catawba River back on Black Friday...the day after Thanksgiving last year...11/25.
On the way back to her home, I passed right by the entrance but it was too late to visit...gotta do it sometime soon tho!! Thanks!! JohnYaksJax
