Saw this on FB so it must be true. :dontknow:
I guess that goose might not have been trying to mate with Drew Gregory after all.
That's still a pretty awful way to go though.

I carry five combos nearly every trip, I would have beat the honk out of said goose and et his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

I had a pelican attack me while fishing at the FCKA  He swam about 5 yards away from me and continued to follow me for 20 min's or so. I finally got tired of him and took my rod and slapped it on the water. The pelican didn't like that and came with wings spread and beak open towards me. He got within 3 feet of my kayak before he stopped. As you might guess, I didn't slap my rod on the water anymore!

Keith/Dreads was my witness :D

Here is updated picture of my pelican friend

ok, it gets worst!

It was a trained attack swan that worked along with dogs to deter geese.

Quote:
Anthony Hensley, 37, of Villa Park, Ill., worked for a company called Knox Swan & Dog which used swans and dogs to keep geese off the condominum’s properties.

Hensley was in a kayak on the condo’s retention pond checking on the animals Saturday morning when one of the swans swam at him, causing him to fall out of his kayak into the water.

Frank Bilecki of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, told ABCNews.com that Hensley struggled to stay above water. Two witnesses saw Hensley resurface a few times in the pond and called police, but by the time crews arrived he had been fully submerged. He was not wearing a life vest, Bilecki said.

Jokes aside, that really must have been an awful way to go and he left a family. But you really gotta wear your pfd.

Thank you for pointing that out. Had he been wearing a PFD this story would have been another blooper reel like when Drew Gregory got attacked by the goose. And I'm sure now they are probably going to put down the swan for actually doing what it was intended to do, deter invaders.

Swans are some nasty beasts, not the beautiful creatures of fairy tales. A few years back in Ct. a toddler was killed by one that chased him and broke his neck when the bird hit him with his wings while attacking.

Yes, a PFD would have resulted in a better ending, I guess he was dressed in work boots and work cloths. I also imagine the water temps didn't help with trying to swim.
