I am looking to do a Kayak Rack that would be located in the Garage. It could be fixed or able to be moved around. Please post pictures of your rack so I can get an idea of whats out there. (Simple to complex)

One Liner.....I really like the title of this post!! :thumbright:

Sea To Summit makes several outstanding products for kayak and canoe storage that you can hang from the wall....inside or outdoors...or use as a hoist to raise the watercraft from your vehicle and then lower it right on top so that you can strap it down easily (depends on the height of your vehicle and garage tho!!)

At Black Creek Outfitters, we use both the Sea To Summit wall hangers (Aquaracks) and hoists (Aquaslings) to store 40+ kayaks in our demo room and you can see them in use...and purchase them also at BCO!!

Here is the wall or rack mount that we use:

http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/65

The Aquaracks cost $99 and can be installed in literally minutes after you find a wall stud....Indoors or Outdoors....$99!!!
Save some time and go fishing more often!!

I use this unit from Malone - it was very inexpensive, easy to install and works very well. Strike-Zone has them for like $60.

I also use the Malone J rack that KayakMike posted. Works great for storing both my kayaks.

I have a couple Moose Racks. Highly reccomended. They are super burly and weather safe (all stainless and aluminum).

Check out http://www.themooserack.com

Built this for the 2 Hobies I bought from JohnYaksJax. Works just fine in the garage.

I built a rack using square tubing and trucker tie down straps. The rack rides in a trailer or removes and sets on the floor. Hauls two constant and will take third on removable cross braces at the top. The rack allows me to load easy, haul, store and rotate the yaks for cleaning and draining.

Hope you can see it in the back. Never mind twin 26.5 reds.

You can never go wrong with two lengths of 1 1/2" schedule 40 PVC, a 22.5degree elbow, 2 end caps, and a couple of screws. PVC cement them together and screw them into a wall stud. Should set you back 10 bucks and some change.

Mine is made from a eyebolt, some old garden hose to keep the loops open, and some used kite-line. The blocks at the top are ratchets, but I only used them to hoist it to that level.

My boats really started piling up, so I cobbed this together out of some PT 2x4's and a couple of landscape timbers:

All of the boats are normally upside down in the rack.

This rack (not mine) is waaaaaay cooler.
