Just watched a guy put over ten undersized flounder on his stringer. Absolutely livid that people would keep a fish with not even a fish stick of meat on them just because ey are flounder. Was under the Atlantic. Blvd bridge when this occurred. Should I have reported this guy? Kinda unsure if I did the right thing.

Personally I would have nicely informed him that what he was doing was illegal and explained the current regulations to him. If then he did not return the fish to the water I would have called the FWC.

Ditto what SeaDog said!!

Also, "a picture is worth 1,000 words" and send it to the FFWCC!!!

With all the crazy people out there I wouldn't get involved in a discussion with him. Have been witness to couple of altercations that actually turned into a head butt. Just call the FWC and let them handle

I agree, take his pic and report him.

Typically the type of individual that does that would not exactly be the kind of person to take your points in a 'considerate' manner :D

I agree most people who would poach a undersized flounder are not ones worth talking to. I guess for me it's really a case by case choice to try talking to someone or not. I've done it before and got poor reactions but, if you can get them to release a fish unharmed once it's worth a few poor reactions in my book. If you were to just call the FWC there is a good chance all the fish would die before there arrival. Sometimes you can tell a person is truly ignorant of the law which is no excuse to keep an illegal fish but, you might be able to educate them and keep the fish alive. Many times you can tell they are just out right poaching in which case it is better to just collect evidence and report them.

Most folks that poach fish dont care.
Not worth the trouble on yourself.
Call FWC, it's their job to deal with the low lifes.

Yea. This guy knew he was breaking the law. He took a stringer home and came back to poach more baby flounder.if I see behavior like this again I will definitely call. Since I now have the number in my phone. Thanks for all the feedback.
