Had three reels fail me in the last two weeks. All problems due to the line roller bearing. I tried to clean them but have discovered that one they go, they are a gonner. When I contacted Shimano, they advised the parts would not be available until June :( I call several of their service centers and was able to locate the parts (10314 Bearing / 9840 Roller). Parts are on the way and should receive them by monday

After all my investigation, I highly recommend that you put a drop of oil on this part after each outting.

Not sure if they are a sealed bearing or not. Maybe Shimano can tell you. You should be able to remove the shield and pack the bearing with blue Yamaha grease. This would help increase the life of the bearing. In the mean time I recommend using a thick oil like 3in1 Red or Blue.
