I've had one for a couple of years. Early on I thought it was very silly and de-activated it several times. Now it's been active for a while, and I enjoy seeing what my hunting/fishing buddies are up to.

Most of my FB Friends are folks who fish  Probably 100 of them are here on JKF and other fishing related websites.

So..... ain't necessarily so :smoke:

I'm on. It's where all my worlds collide - work, high school friends, fishing friends, friend friends. :)

I looked you up on FB and could not find it. Can you post a hyperlink to the page. I saw that you started making your own jigs and want to see what they look like and will probly make an order with you.

I didn't care about people when I was in HS. I certainly don't care to know what they're doing 20 years later.

LOL
I feel the same way most of the time.
Once in a while I'll get a friend request from someone I knew a long time back.
I'll start to hit the add button and then remember why I don't talk to them any more an block them instead.

A sophomoric and aggrevating distraction.
Cancelled my account after about two weeks.
All of my real "friends" that care to know about my day to day activities have my phone #.

All you kids get off my lawn ! :smoke:

I have to agree especially with all the folks who never reached out with a phone over 20 years - Facebook is so much easier than actually communicating or staying in touch? If a relationship was worthwhile you would have had it without Facebook. DENY and IGNORE are my favorite things now, especially to those folks who were once 'friends' but are actually less than 'acquaintances' based on their lack of desire to stay in touch until now all of a sudden. I wish there was a 'IGNORE BECAUSE' button so you could let them know why you are ignoring them :sunny:

Now everyone wants to see how 'popular' they can get with their own personal 'Me' channel. It's not about sharing information or relationships, it's about seeing how much attention can be gathered and directed to a single person or topic. When it comes to sharing information the thing Facebook and 'social media' falls short on is organizing information as you get it in a forum. Just my 2 cents worth (maybe less than that) :joker:

Agree with Mike. What I do enjoy is making contact with a good friend that I have lost contact with over the years (i.e my college room mate who married the girl of my dreams, who turned out to be his worst nightmare). However, adding a friend when I get a Friend Request seldom happens. If I didn't like them then, doubt I would like them now. If I haven't fished with them, played golf with them, had drinks/dinner with them.............then they aren't Friends. They are acquaintances.

What is bugging the crap out of me is this "Like" my business FB page. There are several of my Friends who will "LIKE" every one of these business FB pages. I am so tired of seeing that So and So, "Likes" a particular brand or some publication or this ...... Sure, they are helping to promote this particular business because they like/use the brand or has a sponsorship deal of some type But.... just how much a friend are they with Dull Point Jigs, Wanna Fish Mag, Foggy Sun Glasses. Most of these type Friends are self promoting and probably shouldn't be my friend anyway. Maybe I should just delete them and be done with it.

Glad Mike and Jerry both friended me before they turned on FB!

Jerry - I thought you enjoyed my cupcake pictures!

I don't really like to talk on the phone - never have. FB allows me to keep up with all my family since we are spread all over and none live in Jax. I really only talk to my parents on the phone - everyone else gets a text or a comment. What I hate are the game updates! UGH!

Before you knock the companies on FB, have to say it paid off for me in the form of one heck of a nice Accent Paddle!

Comment not directed at you Melita. You were on a mission to help a good cause :smoke: As regards the cupcakes... everytime you put up a picture you make me hungry :thumbleft:
